Our History

Where it all started

The story of Keystone is a story of God showering blessings on simple people responding to the gospel in faith.

As we saw the needs of Ankeny and the growth of this city, we felt burdened to reach this community with the gospel. In 2012, our church launched with 120 people as a satellite campus of Cornerstone Church of Ames.

In 2017, we became autonomous and changed our name to Keystone Church. While our name and building location have changed through the years, our vision remains the same: to help people know & follow Jesus.

Here for the next generation

We are a multi-generational church that loves and intentionally reaches the next generation.

In 2017, we established The Salt Company in Ankeny to help reach DMACC students in our community. Every Thursday night, college students gather to worship Jesus by singing and listening to God's word.

Where we are going

We constantly ask how can we reach the next place and the next place. Our heart is to plant churches and Salt Companies in university cities all across this country and to the ends of the earth.

Keystone is part of the larger network of churches called The Salt Network. Through the Salt Network, we pray we will see churches planted, communities strengthened, and gospel witness extended.

So far, we've launched two church plants, and we are launching a third in 2025 to Bowling Green, Kentucky.
